Xbox disk is not reading can i fix it?

i bought a game online and when it got here i tried playing it but it wouldn't work so i looked at the disk. It looks like it was dropped or knocked in transit and one of the filaments is separated from the other in two triangular shapes on either side of the disk. i live in germany and the game took a month here so i am trying to fix it before i just return it. any ideas?
