What does my dream mean (disturbing)?

I was standing over a table that had a chicken on it, and in my head was a news report being recited, saying this chicken was being tortured by scientists for bone marrow transplants or something, and it was living in constant agony. It was headless and completely bald, and there was all this black wool that looked like smoke coming out of it... and it was writhing about on the table screaming, and I burst into tears and ran away because the scientists were just gonna carry on with this.
